অনেক কিছুর ভিরে আমার আমাকে খুঁজি

অনেক লোকের ভিরে আমার আমাকে খুঁজি
খুঁজি আমার অস্তিত্ব বাংলা মায়ের বাতাস,
অনেক লোকের ভিরে আমার প্রেমিক খুঁজি
যেথায় নাই হারের যেন তার দীর্ঘশ্বাস।

অনেক নদীর কাছে একটি নদীকে খুঁজি
পদ্ম,মেঘনা যমুনা দিতেছে বঙ্গ ভাসন,
নাঁচছে কোমর ধুলে ঢেউর তালেই জল
জেলে, নেীকা, মাঝি আর প্রকৃতি মাখা আসন।

অনেক লোকের ভিরে অনেক দেশের ভিরে
খুঁজেছি মাটির রস পাইনা কোথায় খুড়ে,
ভাবছি তখন যেন হাজার ধনের ঘিরে
বাংলার আমার প্রিয় আজ থাকি যতদূরে।

পাখির কণ্ঠ আমার আকুল মনে ডাকছে
সবুজ বিলের পাশে প্রজাপতির ডানা,
হাজার পাখির দৃশ্য হাজার সুরের কাছে
চাইনা যেতে দূরেই এমন হাজার মানা।

In the throngs of humanity's ebb and flow,
Where the crowded streets are alive with glow,
I search for thee, my love, among the throngs,
In the midst of many, where my heart belongs.

My Bengali mother's wind whispers low,
"Find thy lover, child, do not let him go,"
In the crowded markets, bustling with trade,
Where the scent of spices fills the shaded aid.

Among the many, where the rivers meet,
The Padma, Meghna, and Ya, so sweet,
Find my lover, where the waters blend,
In the midst of many, my heart's only friend.

In the noise of the city's never-ending hum,
I'll find my love, where the wind whispers "come,"
In the crowded alleys, where the shadows play,
I'll find my lover, come what may.
